What I read this week: Is India really ready to usher in a universal basic income programme

So let’s talk about a universal basic income for every Indian. Won’t believe? Actually it looks like it is closer to becoming a reality in India sooner than we think. I am sure you would love to read about it.

Plus, I also read some interesting write-ups about how water is emerging as one hell of a business and whether earnings really drive market.

  1. it will be a good idea because when 60-70% of the country survive at less than 100 rupees a day and the benefits not reaching them properly due to corruption and malpractice. It should be aadhar linked DBT and should be for the poorest of the poor.. govt should make it technology enabled but the sad part is the targeted audience is uneducated and prone to be abused.

    1. i agree with you on this although technology as you have suggested is a powerful tool and can be used in targeting this kind of subsidy
